Girona is a colorful town in Spain, which is often called "immortal." The city fortress withstood 25 conquest attempts and was never taken. Today, tourists have the opportunity to walk along the walls of the fortress and see the Old Town from a height. Of course, it is worth renting a car to explore every corner and feel the local flavor. The main asset of Girona is architecture. The attention of tourists is attracted by the Cathedral, built on the site of an ancient tomb, the church of Sant Feliu, made in the Gothic style, Piazza Sant Feliu, famous for its sculpture in the form of a lion figurine, which scrambles along the column. Local cuisine is no less popular. It is worth a visit to several traditional restaurants and try the delicacies.

What to see in Girona: interesting sights of the city
Arab baths
Carrer Ferran el Catolic, Canos arabes
Having rented a car, go on an excursion to one of the main places of the city, which is included in the list of the national heritage of Spain. Outside, the building clearly resembles a religious monastery, but since the beginning of the XII century it was a public bathhouse, built by royal order for the needs of the population. In the XVII century, the Capuchin convent began to work here, and the baths were used for the personal needs of the nuns. Later, the territory was given to the city, a small reconstruction was carried out, and the attraction became open to tourists. It is noteworthy that the baths consist of 5 parts: a lounge for conversations, a lounge for the first warming up, a hot water pool, a kitchen, and a rinsing room in cold water.
Cathedral
Placa de la Catedral, s / n www.catedraldegirona.org
The Cathedral is a visiting card of the city. Built at the beginning of the XIV century, the temple was reconstructed several times and today is a rare example of architecture, which organically combines several styles. The road to the shrine lies through 90 steps, each symbolizing sin. Thus, reaching the destination, you can completely get rid of life's burdens. The main asset of the cathedral is the treasury, which houses medieval goblets, chests, icons made of gold and decorated with precious stones.
Girona Walls
Due to its favorable location, the city was regularly attacked. The walls were built in the I century BC to strengthen the defense, and in the IX, XIV, XVII centuries, reconstruction was carried out. Today, tourists have the opportunity to explore both ancient Roman sites and more modern ones. In addition to the walls themselves, Fort Sobre (a construction with a city gate in the center) and the Viscount Tower (where you can climb and view the panoramas of the city) deserve attention.
Episcopal Palace
Pujada de la Catedral, 12
When traveling by rental car, be sure to take the time to visit the Episcopal Palace. It was built at the end of the X century and was used for its intended purpose until the end of the last century. Externally, the building looks gloomy, the decoration is devoid of luxury. Inside is the Museum of Art, the main asset of which is a collection of early paintings, a collection of manuscripts and rare books, as well as a collection of religious rarities dating from the period before the early centuries of Christianity.
Ile Call
Ile-Kall - the Jewish quarter, which is considered the highest-preserved medieval quarter in Europe. Residential buildings, squares, alleys have been preserved in their original form. The center is Carrer Forca, which was laid by the Romans. Every square centimeter is colorful here, so the only thing worth doing once in Ile-Call is to walk as much as possible and inspect the old quarters that are more than 700 years old.
