Krasnorechenskoe settlement

In 38 kilometers from Bishkek, the remains of the ancient city of Navekat, through which the Silk Road passed, were discovered. The city actively flourished from the VI century until the XII century. During the excavations, water wells, ceramic water pipes, a Buddha statue and elements of Buddhist sculpture and painting were discovered. The attraction was named “Krasnorechenskoe settlement” and it is believed that this is the first national object that has been studied by the science of Kyrgyzstan. Of particular interest were the discovered Christian crosses, Zoroastrian burials, Buddhist temples. To date, the historical monument is considered the largest in Central Asia and is taken under the protection of UNESCO.
